FROM MEMORY TO MATTER

A Collage & Beeswax Workshop

With artist Fabiola Chiminazzo

Location: 26, 20b St, Al Manara, Dubai, UAE
Date & Time: Sunday, 15 June, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Fee: AED 580,00 (Includes all materials + light snacks and refreshments)
Adults only | Max 10 participants

What to Bring:

  • 6 to 8 personal images (printed).

  • Any size or paper is welcome, but black-and-white A4 prints in high resolution are recommended. These can be portraits, objects, places, or documents, anything that holds a thread of memory for you.

  • All other materials such as beeswax, papers, stamps, and tools will be provided. Light snacks and warm conversation will be as well.

What to expect:

You’ll leave with a memory keepsake and a new perspective on how memory, art, and healing can speak to one another.

This is not just a collage workshop, it’s a space to reconnect with what has shaped you. A space where memory softens, stories surface, and what you carry becomes something you can hold in your hands.

About the workshop:

We all have fragments tucked away: photographs in drawers, images we've kept without knowing why. Some are joyful, others quiet, some still waiting to be seen. In this workshop, you’ll bring those fragments into the light.

Using personal photographs, paper, and warm beeswax, we’ll create layered compositions that reflect how memory lives and shifts. Beeswax, a material known for preservation and transformation, invites you to work slowly and intuitively. To feel the image rather than fix it.

This is a creative space where you’ll be guided by artist Fabiola Chiminazzo in a slow, intuitive process that uses collage, beeswax, and stamping to bring those fragments into form. She will share elements of her own practice, where memory is layered, softened, and reframed, so you can learn not only how she works but why she works this way.

It is a shared space to recognize parts of ourselves in each other’s images. We build trust through materials and make meaning together.

You don’t need to be an artist. You just need curiosity and a willingness to see your story with fresh eyes.

This is a space to reimagine what memory means to you. Not to make a perfect piece, but to create something honest and deeply yours. It’s about connecting with your story and letting creativity be the way through.

About the Facilitator
Fabiola Chiminazzo is a Brazilian artist based in the UAE whose practice explores memory, materiality, and the invisible traces we carry. Working with beeswax, photography, and archival fragments, she creates layered compositions that soften, distort, and reframe personal and collective histories. In this workshop, Fabiola brings her intimate, hands-on process into a shared space—offering gentle guidance, artistic insight, and an invitation to see memory not as something fixed, but as something you can hold, shape, and transform. She has an MFA in Art and Media from NYU Abu Dhabi (2023) and was granted the program’s Postgraduate Research Fellowship (2023-24).

Group Experiences with CultureMe

We believe something powerful happens when people come together around art, not to observe passively but to reflect, create, and exchange. At CultureMe, group experiences are carefully designed to foster these kinds of moments.

Whether it’s a hands-on workshop with a contemporary artist, a philosophical talk, or a guided exhibition visit, each experience offers space to pause, reconnect, and see the world and each other a little differently.

We work with individuals, companies, and cultural institutions to shape encounters that feel personal, inspiring, and relevant.

Our approach to Meaningful Encounters

We started with a simple idea: that art and thought are better when shared. In a world that moves quickly, we create moments that ask us to slow down, think with our hands, speak from experience, and feel more deeply.

Founded by art advisor Viktoriya Melny, our programs blend creativity, reflection, and cultural dialogue. Each encounter is an invitation, not just to look at art, but to step into a conversation with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.
